Passing of an Era: We are so sorry to announce the passing of Helen Pepper, one of our first 7 members in Abilene, Kansas. Helen was a great force in Beta Sigma Phi from the very beginning and those of us who got the chance to meet her, are grateful. We know she is with God but we are diminished by this loss.
Diane Williams of P.E.I. Canada is the lucky winner of Earlene's new book. I think I'll have to buy two next year, there were so many great notes from sister fans that I read after the pick, it was hard not to want pick everyone. Diane got her Mom reading Earlene as well so we're glad to get her this book. Laura Ross Wingfield
THE TORCH WILL BE PRINTED FOR SUBSCRIBERS!
Beta Sigma Phi International is very excited to inform you that, starting
with the August 2010 issue, we will once again be printing the Torch. We
met a quota that will allow us to print seven issues per year.
The online version of the August 2010 Torch will be available July 22. We
will let you know the exact date the August Torch is printed and mailed.

Problems Loading the Website?
A few members have had problems seeing the website. We now know that it is due to their browser being out dated. If you have a problem seeing the website, try updating your browser, which will also enhance your security, that should take care of it. We test the pages on the leading browsers so we know they work, if you have problems with it, it may well be your browser is out of date. Firefox has been the problem most often.
THE TORCH is posted on line but we cannot email it directly to members because of the size of the file. We will be doing announcement emails when it is published but you need to go the THE TORCH on line in order to get the new issues.

What Is New!

The August TORCH is on line, you can still fill out the yardstick on line at the Beta Journal site.
Looks like the vote is NO on the cookbooks, we may survey again in the future and base it on the type of book, but for now, it looks like this last cookbook is the last cookbook.
Please continue to let us know what you'd like to see added or enhanced. We have lots of ideas to keep us busy but we want this to be responsive to you. We have had many, many great comments, thanks for that, keep returning to see what new things might be happening. |
